Skin, coat & ear care

Choose the relevant skin or ear track, prepare useful observations, and coordinate the prescribed care and cleaning.

I've learned to keep the first photo and the product dates instead of trying to remember them later. A patch can look different in different light, and a cleaner ear does not explain why it was uncomfortable. I keep location, itch and treatment separate in my notes. That makes it easier to explain what changed and to keep the household routine manageable.

IS THIS THE RIGHT GUIDE?

Start with the question
on your mind.

For itchy skin, fur changes or ear discomfort being assessed by a vet. A photograph or wax color does not diagnose ringworm, mites or infection.

This guide has separate ringworm, flea and ear-care tracks. Panleukopenia uses a different household infection-control routine.

INSIDE THE GUIDE

Describe where, then describe what

Use a location map and a dated photo together. The map is an observation aid, not a diagnostic picture or a reason to handle a sore area repeatedly.

A record you can actually use

Use similar light and the same area for photos. Stop handling if it hurts.

  • Date / cat / body area
  • Photo reference; visible change
  • Itch / pain / sleep affected
  • Products / action / response

Example only: left ear | Photo A; describe the change | Keep comfort separate from looks | Exact product and date

Three care sheets
to keep close.

  • Skin & ear change record
  • Treatment & household tasks
  • The next skin or ear review

Print extra copies or fill the fields in a compatible PDF reader. Save a copy of your completed notes.

These are personal routines and general care information, not an individual diagnosis or prescription.
